Exporting tomatoes from Egypt, as it is one of the most important tomato producing countries, as it occupies the fifth place in the world in tomato production, so tomatoes are exported to all countries of the world from Egypt.
Egypt produces about 7 million 943 thousand tons of tomatoes every year after China, Turkey, Italy and America, and one of the most important countries that import tomatoes from Egypt is Britain and the European Union countries.
One of the best types of tomatoes in Egypt that are grown in Luxor Governorate in the center of Esna, and its production is about 5% of Egypt’s productivity of tomatoes, which is equivalent to 8.5 million tons per year, and it is of the meaty type required in the export of tomatoes from Egypt.
Tomatoes are planted in Egypt in August or September in Upper Egypt, and harvest is carried out in December until March, while they are planted in March in the Delta, and harvest is carried out in June until September in the Delta.
Tomatoes are exported from Egypt to meet the needs of the European Union in the winter for all types, whether they are round tomatoes, or fresh long ones, and in the summer dried tomatoes, especially since the export of tomatoes to the European Union is not subject to taxes.
